A rock legend once described Marcus Eaton as, “One of the best young singer-songwriters in America – maybe even the world.”

 

That was the assessment of Rock and Roll Hall of Famer David Crosby, among the giants with whom Eaton has performed. The founder of the Marcus Eaton Trio has emerged as a trailblazing singer and songwriter, and a virtuoso guitarist.

 

Eaton’s inspiration is clear. As he states, “My mission is to create music that resonates on a deep emotional and spiritual level, while delivering an extraordinary musical experience.” 

 

Eaton’s band mates, bassist Marc-Inti and percussionist Rhani Krija, have also performed with the greats after honing their skills at renowned institutions around the world. 

 

The result is a collection of gold-standard artists, embracing multiple genres, passionately creating a uniquely rich and textured sound.

Marcus Eaton

 

Eaton’s career covers more than two decades, during which he has expanded the role of singer, musician, composer and producer. Lyrically and melodically adventurous, Eatons is the son of singer-songwriter Steve Eaton (who has written songs recorded by the Carpenters and Art Garfunkel). 

 

A Los Angeles artist who has a second home in Europe, Eaton’s musical trek began when he was just 9 years old, learning to play a little guitar given to him by his father. After early success with his band the Lobby, Eaton expanded his styles into jazz-funk, flamenco and reggae. 

 

Eaton has for more than two decades been at the forefront of the looping technique, developing an orchestral sound through his acoustic guitar.

 

Eaton has performed with an impressive, and diverse, collection of artists, among them Derek Trucks, Graham Nash, Stone Temple Pilots, Seal, Vonda Shephard, Bob Dylan, Nils Lofgren, Flea, Rodrigo Y Gabriella, Leland Sklar, Toots and The Maytals, and Victor Wooten. 

Eaton worked with Crosby for several years, co-writing on the legend’s critically acclaimed 2014 comeback album, “Croz” and also touring with Crosby’s band. Eaton composed and produced the music for the documentary “David Crosby: Remember My Name,” nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Music Documentary in 2020.

Eaton also played guitar on the 2024 biblical comedy-drama “The Book of Clarence.” He is working on his next solo studio album, “What Is Real,” also planned for release in ’24. The material for that album was written during the COVID lockdown of 2020. The third release from the album, the catchy “Better Way,” was supervised in Los Angeles by producer Eric Robinson (whose credits include Taylor Swift and OneRepublic) and recorded with John Mayer's band. The song’s video uses captivating, AI-generated images. 

 

Eaton’s objective today is to tour as a solo artist, and with his new band. 

 

Marc-Inti

 

An expert bassist, Marc-Inti developed his passion for music by attending performances by such legends as B.B. King and Al Di Meola, as well as what he dubs as a “transformative” family trip to Ghana. 

 

An artist with German-Bolivian roots, Marc-Inti attended Brockwood Park International School in the UK, taking piano lessons from esteemed instructors Alan Rowlands and Peter Norris from the Yehudi Menuhin School.

 

Marc-Inti completed his German A-Levels with a focus on music and went on to earn a Bachelor of Musical Arts in Jazz & Popular Music from Hochschule für Musik Mainz in 2006. His studies included a period at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Inti has participated in masterclasses with such renowned bassists as Jeff Andrews and Matthew Garrison in New York City.

 

Marc-Inti is driven by a commitment to intercultural exchange. The artistically adaptable musician integrates jazz bass, piano, and the rhythmic systems of South Indian Carnatic music. 

 

Marc-Inti's remarkable career is peppered with collaboration with such acclaimed artists as Rick Vito, Karnataka College of Percussion and Mike Stern. To widespread acclaim, Marc-Inti is a global force, having toured extensively across Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia.

 

Rhani Krija

 

An artist of Moroccan descent, Krija is a coveted international percussionist, adept at authentic Andalusian, Arabic, African and Latin rhythms.

 

Krija grew up listening to traditional musical styles from North Africa, the foundation for the music he plays today. The percussionist is well-known for his knowledge of, and ability to play, authentic Andalusian, Arabic, African, and Latin rhythms. Consequently, Krija has become a highly sought-after musician around the world.

 

Born in Morocco and now living in Germany, Rhani has spent the last couple of years recording fine percussion samplers for major record labels, while performing internationally. 

 

Rhani has appeared, recorded, toured, and shared the stage with such international stars as Sting, Peter Gabriel, Herbie Hancock, Al Di Meola, Placido Domingo, Annie Lennox, Prince, WDR Big Band, SWR Big Band, Vince Mendoza, Klaus Dolginger, B.A.P, Sarah Connor, Herbert Grönemeyer, Joe Zawinul, Emel, Oum, Max Mutzke, Martin Grubinger, Royal Symphony Orchestra of London, El Houssaine Kili, Djamel Laroussi, Omar Sosa, Momo Djender, Eda Zari, Don Byron, Karim Ziad, Vinnie Colaiuta, Adel Salameh and Keziah Jones.

 

Eaton says that playing with Rhani and Marc-Inti elevates the music to an entirely new level. The band’s founder says. “Throughout my career, I’ve sought musicians who connect with the music on an emotional and spiritual plane.”
